Pete and The Wrangler

In the crisp morning hours yesterday, with the fuzzy taste of Super Bowl beer still on his tongue, Pete Duffy attended the first annual Groundhog Day celebration at Jerry Guthlein’s home in Milltown. The air was thick with anticipation and a sense that this would be an event to remember. Men from all walks of life were dressed in their finest attire, top hats and all. Peter Duffy wore a solemn Dallas Cowboys shirt in a desperate attempt to keep his dreams alive after a dissapointing season. He had no idea that this one solitary wardrobe choice would be his first step into a world he had never imagined.

20 minutes before zero hour, while the whole world held its breath, one of six Groundhog wranglers set himself apart from the rest. He was dressed in a black tuxedo and top hat. He carried an enormous bell and a very well-edowed walking stick. For a moment, he locked eyes with Pete. The world stopped. The Wrangler exclaimed that he was a Cowboys fan as well and Pete waited a moment before talking to him for fear that his comment was directed at someone standing behind him. Pete couldn’t get hurt again. He wouldn’t let it happen. But to the wrangler, Pete was the only man in the crowd. To Pete’s amazement, the wrangler invited him over to his home on the spot to show off his Dallas Cowboy decor and merchandise to the only human who could possibly understand his pain. It was meant to be.

Time unfortunatly presses on and the wrangler has to do his duties and carry out the Groundhog ceremony with the rest of his bretheren. Pete stood on hand beaming with pride. But the day grew late, as days often due when we want them to stay young forever, and the wrangler had to move on. For wranglers can’t linger, and their time in this world is brief.

Pete never did find out his name. He hoped that someday, the two would meet again at some Groundhog event down the road and they could rekindle the friendship that had come to be. The Groundhog did see his shadow in Milltown that day proclaiming 6 more weeks of winter. For my best friend Pete however, the winter will only last as long as it takes for he and the wrangler to meet again. And no Groundhog in the world can predict when that will be…

Obsession of the Moment: Rap Battling

My life over the last month has pretty much been a blur. Often do I spend my days on YouTube watching battles over and over and over again. I’m amazed at the talent it takes. To make people laugh and do rhythmically and to have it rhyme is an unbelievable skill. I recommend it greatly. I already consider myself somewhat of an expert of the battling scene. Not that I have any skill in that area whatsoever, I do know the main players and the main events held through the year. First of all you have ScribbleJam which is held once a year in Ohio which is the biggest 1 on 1 battle event of the year. Then you have the 2 on 2 World Rap Championships from Jumpoff which involves dozens of teams from throughout the country in a season of rap battling. Then you have Grind Time which is just a promotional thing holding battles between heavyweights for exposure. Your main players in the battle scene are guys like The Saurus (my personal favorite and two-time Scribble champ as well as 2-time WRC champ with Illmaculate, another major player in the scene), Iron Solomon, NoCanDo, Marvwon, Quest McCody among others. A lot of their lines have to do with other battlers and what’s happened in other battles which I’ve gotten a good sense of since I’ve watched so many. Here’s a great battle you should watch between The Saurus and Madness, it’s hilarious.

It’s no secret that I am enamored Ashley Tisdale. Just the thought that the two of us live on the same planet is enough to get me through the days. With that being said I couldn’t just sit around and wait for our love to bloom. I had to take action. Sure, I’ve written her love notes on the internet, purchased her posters, and listen to her songs whenever possible but it’s never been enough. So I wrote her a song. Zac Efron Deleted Scene from HSM3

That is graphic. Zac Efron is blatantly nude and showering in the picture above in a scene that was apparently cut from everyone’s favorite movie ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year.’ Let me just say, they made the right decision. This is lewd. Personally I think he’s ripped but this might be a bit much for 7 year old girls to be seeing. This is graphic. There is no genitalia in the picture that I found but I’m sure in the deleted scene he was just spinning it around and holding it up to his mouth making pretend it was a microphone and singing into it…yea…he could do it. Anyway I’ll be picking up the DVD when it comes out and I’ll be going over this scene to make sure there’s no nudity, slowly, frame by frame, scanning over every single detail over and over again.

Getting Pumped for High School Musical 3

There have been few in the past. ‘The Dark Knight’, ‘Knocked Up’, and ‘Grindhouse’ have been some. Besides ‘The Dark Knight’ nothing has come close to getting me this excited for a movie. Ever. I was a late-bloomer to the world of Disney but I thank the lord everyday that I opened that door of my life. I couldn’t imagine how much different my life would have been without the late-night gatherings of friends at my house for the ‘High School Musical’ themed parties. The kind of parties where the movies would be played, singing would be done, and HSM board games would be played. Not to mention a whole lot of dancing. The smiles that the touching moments between characters have brought me compare to nothing. Troy. Gabriella. Sharpay. Ryan. Chad. Taylor. Daaaaarbus. Stay in our hearts forever Wildcats, you will in mine.

Sorry readers, the lack of content so far is unacceptable but allow me to explain. When Don and I started this blog our main purpose was to post our podcast. We have done a few of them but we are still trying to find a way to get it posted. All written material was going to be a bonus. We apologize that nothing has been posted in a couple weeks as we are concentrating now on getting ‘Crescent Factory Radio’ out to the public. There will be more posts in the coming weeks, we promise. Until then…I’m sorry.

The image presented above is clearly not Harvey and is instead Philip Banks or “Uncle Phil” from televisions The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Well this is wonderful and when I found it by accident online, I rejoiced, and now you can too!.

Well it’s that time again folks. That’s right it’s October. This month is probably my favorite month of all time for many a reason. First of all, the weather could not be better. I just love that chill in the air. The October afternoons when the sunset makes the whole town orange is just flat out glorious. Of course the best part of October is Halloween. I just love it. It’s just a day where I really feel like I can be a kid again. I may not go trick-or-treating or even wonder the town aimlessly on Mischief Night, but one still gets that wonderful feeling that On those nights, the fiends come out to dance in the moonlight.

The number one thing I enjoy doing in October is watching television shows or films that I find perfect for getting the Halloween juices flowing. The list is as follows. (feel free to comment/add to the list your personal favorites)

Well that’s my list. Yeah I know it’s missing some classic horror movies like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. But my favorite Halloween movies and TV episdoes are ones that take place on or around Halloween. I like to see the leaves changing colors, the moon turning red, and the characters actually dealing with the holiday of Halloween. It’s my opinion. What’s yours?
